YOU NEED:
- Watermelon
- Tequila, I use a good silver one
- Triple sec
- Key limes
- Optional: simple syrup
YOU DO:
- Blend a good handful of watermelon with a little bit of water or simple syrup, like a teaspoon or so. Watermelon's pretty juicy, so you don't need much to smooth it out.
- For every 1/4 cup of blended watermelon you put in your cocktail shaker, add:
- 1 shot tequila
- 1/2 shot triple sec
- The juice of 1/2 of a key lime
- Fill any leftover room in your cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake it, son! Do a dance! IT'S MARGARITA TIME!
- Pour over ice into a glass garnished to your liking- sugar rim, slice of lime, whatever. I feel this one's perfectly tasty with no frills, unlike a lemon drop which really needs that sugar rim, you know?
If you want it blended, not on the rocks, I guess follow all of my instructions above, but with the blender, not the shaker. I dunno, man, I'm a rocks person. Also if you can't get key limes, subbing in like a 1/4 shot or so of regular lime juice might be ok. Key limes are more tart and are the "classic" margarita lime. Lemons are also acceptable, though! This is anything but authentic, have some fun.
I wanna try adding kiwi next time :O I bet that'd be delicious.
